Stutteri Møllegyden - a Welsh mountain family business - and now also with one cob.

Stutteri Møllegyden was established in 1990 by the purchase of the welsh mountain stallion “Stendyssens Shadow”, which we achieved many successful experiences with. It is noted that at the annual national show in 1992 he stood wing, was best Danish breed stallion, young stock champion and res. Stallion champion, and by the “Fyns Dyrskue” in 1994 he received the title of Best Stallion among all the stallions that participated.

Unfortunately, it appeared that Shadow's semen quality was very poor, and he was sold. Instead, we bought Ceulan Saracen (after Twyford Sprig), which together with the mares Balka (S) Juice (after Coed Coch Helgi) and Fakla Helena (after Singels Chip Wip) were the base for our breeding.

We have over the years managed to breed some class winners and champions, and in 2008 the stud consists of the following Welsh mountain herd of mares: Møllegydens Beauty (after Ceulan Saracen), Møllegydens Isabella (after Yaverland Nero), Flydon Medi (after Flydon Hapus ap Henri), Cammac Easter Bonnet (after Coed coch Reg), Auric Princess (by Auric Surprize) and Dagwood Lauren (after Mathafarn Henry), which all have a very good Coed coch pedigree. For future mares, we have Møllegydens Bonnet (after Randan Aga Khan), Møllegydens Luna (after Farchynys Carwyn) and Møllegydens Mari (after Farchynys Carwyn).

Additionally in 2008, we acquired us a black Cob mare, Cilsane Ebony, after the legendary stallion, Ebbw Victor. We hope that in the future we can breed a lot of beautiful black Cob-foals with her.

We are also in possession of some good stallions, all with Coed coch pedigree, both on the mother and father side. In 2006-08 we chose to breed with the stallion Farchynys Carwyn after Coed coch Ariandy, now gelding. In 2007 Rhydgwillim Paddy (No. 4 at the Royal Welsh 2005), which is after Dukes Hill Pokemon (after Dukes Hill Actionman), covered 2 mares from outside the stud with the stud prefixes. In 2008, he has covered Beauty and Isabella, and a mare from the outside. Our own Møllegydens Victor (after Randan Aga Khan) has in 2007 and 2008 been on loan to “Stud Tanggård”. And last but not least, we have chosen to keep Møllegydens Bonanza (after Farchynys Carwyn). Møllegydens Madog (after Farchynys Carwyn) is the youngest stallion we got, but we have chosen to sell him.

In addition, we have chosen in 2008 to cover Dagwood Lauren with the stallion Cross Foxes Bari, so 2009 will be an exciting year.

Our goal in breeding is to have children-friendly Coed coch welsh mountain ponies with expressive heads and prima movement, which has succeeded so far.

The stud is 2 places in the country: at Jørgen and Vibeke on Fyn, and with Christina, Louise and Mogens in Nordjylland.

It was a bit about us. Welcome to our site, and enjoy.
